WORKTOPS

Kitchen worktops need to be both practical and complementary to the design of your kitchen and budget. James Adcock Furniture offer a huge range of worktops from top of the range Dekton and Corian to all stones and wood, as well as everything in between. Here is a summary of the different options:

Dekton

A highly compressed man-made no stone with no resin. Highly resistant to scratches, heat and UV rays. In addition, it’s unique designs and colours will enhance the beauty of any space. Dekton comes with a warranty of 25 years which demonstrates it’s ability to withstand even the most intense daily use.

Corian

Corian is a man-mad material bonding stone with a high level of resin. It can be moulded to create undulating, virtually seamless, organic shapes with bold effects of colour and translucency. Sinks and upstands can also be moulded into the length of worktop with this material.

Quartz

Market leading brands such a Silestone, Caesarstone and Unistone offer a wide range of colours for this extremely popular, man-mad stone. Different colours are made up of different resin content mixed with natural quartz which means it possesses strength and provides outstanding resistance and durability properties. It comes in slabs like granite and is cut to size.

Granite and Marble

Natural stones from around the world with all the changes and variety in pattern and colour that you would expect form a natural product. Granite is a harder stone than Marble and is more practical for Kitchen surfaces.

Solid surface

A hybrid of laminate and man-mad stone, solid surface worktops have an acrylic surface usually 6-10mm thick with a particle board core available in different thicknesses. They can offer a less expensive option to stone worktops with a similar looking finish.

Wood

Available in a wide variety of colours and finishes, wooden worktops add character and, offer the acoustic ability to soak up noise in a room where you may have lots of solid surfaces. A cost-effective solution and often used in combination with stone. James Adcock Furniture can also offer live edge wooden worktops to add character to your room.

Laminate

The most well know type of laminate surface is Formica. A particle board base which is topped with a thin layer of plastic covering. Available in a wide variety of colours and wooden effects. This is a cost effective way of fitting a worktop when budgets are tight.

Bespoke worktops

Cement, Stainless Steel, Slate and Copper worktops can all be sourced. Just let us know what you would like during your design consultation.

Our Woods & Finishes

We use oak, ash, beech, pine, elm and some other more interesting woods if they come across our path. We like to use wood to its natural best, showing off its character and interesting qualities.

Once the timber has been shaped and cut to form the cabinets, the units are transported to our workshop in the Warwickshire. Once it has been assembled it will be finished and ready for installation. We top coat the furniture on site by hand to get the best finish. The wood and joints of your cabinets will last a lifetime. Our wooden units are either painted in your choice of colour, or naturally finished with oils. Natural finishes show wood with lots of character, each piece has interesting grain and is as unique as the trees it has been crafted from. The wood used is sustainably sourced and we are proud that our range of furniture and kitchens does not contain plastic in any of the build or functionality.

Your kitchen cabinets and furniture will feature the highest quality fittings, and we can include a wide variety of storage solutions, again crafted in wood.
